LOS ANGELES - STX Entertainment has moved its crime thriller starring Julia Roberts, “The Secret in Their Eyes” back from Oct. 23 to Nov. 20, forcing it to go against Lionsgate’s “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.”
The movie is a remake of the 2009 Academy Award-winning Argentinean film of the same name. The new version stars Roberts, Nicole Kidman and Chiwetel Ejiofor ("12 Years a Slave").
“The Secret in Their Eyes” is directed by Billy Ray ("The Hunger Games") and produced by Mark Johnson and IM Global’s Matt Jackson. The film would be the first potential awards contender from year-old STX and just its second release. The script was written by Ray from the novel written by Eduardo Sacheri.
The film tells the story of a tight-knit team of FBI investigators, along with their District Attorney supervisor, as they are suddenly torn apart when they discover that one of their own teenage daughters has been brutally murdered.
