'The Boss' Rules the Weekend Box Office

LOS ANGELES - Universal's Melissa McCarthy comedy "The Boss" took charge of the weekend box office with a narrow victory with an estimated $23.48 million from Friday through Sunday.

The film barely beat out "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which took in $23.43 million after winning the two previous weekends, for a four-week total of $296.68 million. The other wide release, the thriller "Hardcore Henry," came in fifth place with $5.1 million.

Third place went to Disney's animated "Zootopia" with $14.35 million for a six-week total of $296.01 million. In fourth place was "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2" with $6.42 million for a three-week total of $46.75 million.

The rest of the top 10 stacked up this way:

6. "Miracles From Heaven" (Tri-Star) with $4.84 million for a four-week total of $53.85 million

7. "God's Not Dead 2" (PureFlix) $4.33 million for a two-week total of $14.12 million

8. "The Divergent Series: Allegiant," (Lionsgate/Summit) $3.60 million for a four-week total of $61.83 million

9. "10 Cloverfield Lane" (Paramount) $3.0 million for a five-week total of $67.97 million

10. "Eye in the Sky" (Bleeker Street) $2.83 million for a five-week total of $10.41 million
