LOS ANGELES - USA Network’s award-winning series Mr. Robot has another accolade to add to its list: a prestigious Peabody Award.

The critically acclaimed drama is one of the carefully selected honorees within the Entertainment & Children’s programming category, which comprises 11 of the 30 annual Peabody winners. These 11 recipients were announced this morning on NBC’s TODAY show.

The Peabody committee described Mr. Robot, part of Universal Cable Productions’ lineup, as follows: “A riddle wrapped in a mystery shrouded in a hoody, MR. ROBOT‘s hero, Elliot, is a tormented, anti-social cyber-security whiz caught up in techno-anarchy conspiracy. The series’ twisting, turning, Rubik plot is almost as startling as its overtly anti-corporate stance. Occupy Prime Time?”

With just one season under its belt to date, Mr. Robot has also won a Golden Globe (Best Television Series – Drama) and SXSW’s 2015 Film Festival Audience Award, amongst other honors. Season two of the hit show premieres on Wednesday, July 13 at 10/9c. The Peabody Awards, based at the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication since 1940, celebrates its 75th anniversary this year.
