Nicky Minaj Joins 'Angry Birds Movie 2'
LOS ANGELES – LOS ANGELES – Nicky Minaj has joined the voice cast of the upcoming film “Angry Birds Movie 2,” according to Variety. Her role in the film, which is based upon the popular video game, has not been disclosed.
Minajo joins Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Bill Hader, Danny McBride, and Peter Dinklage all of whom will reportedly all reprise their roles from the original film. Other cast members include Leslie Jones, Rachel Bloom, Awkwafina, Sterling K. Brown, Eugenio Derbez, Lil Rel Howery, Dove Cameron, and Zach Woods.
“Angry Birds Movie 2” is directed by Thurop Van Orman and co-directed by John Rice and produced by John Cohen along with co-producer by Mary Ellen Bauder Andrews. The executive producers are David Maisel and Catherine Winder. Sony Pictures Imageworks will do the animation.
Directed by Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis, “Angry Birds” grossed an estimated $350 million worldwide, and about $107.5 million in the U.S., in 2016. The film, was set on an island populated by happy, flightless birds.
