LOS ANGELES - ABC has canceled the drama series "Revenge" after four seasons. The show, starring Emily VanCamp and Madeleine Stowe, will air its series finale on May 10.
It was just weeks ago that Stowe’s character Victoria Grayson was killed off and the actress confirmed she would not be returning, if “Revenge” were to be picked up for a fifth season. Stowe's departure marked the second time this season a series regular since the show's 2011 debut was killed off when Josh Bowman left the show. Only VanCamp, Gabriel Mann and Nick Wechsler remain as original cast members.
VanCamp tweeted: "Four unbelievable years with the most incredible cast and crew. Could not be more grateful for the experience." In another tweet she said: "Huge thank you and mad love to all of our devoted #Revenge fans over the years! You will never know how much it's meant to all of us."
Mann also tweeted his reaction: "We couldn't have done it without the most passionate brilliant fandom in the world #RevengersRule #GoodbyeRevenge."
Fellow castmember Elena Satine who played Louise Ellis tweeted: "Your amazing comments today have been so heartwarming. I love you all & am so grateful to have been a part of this family! InfinityxInfinity."
Original episodes of “Revenge” are down this season, averaging a 2.0 rating in adults 18-49 and 7.13 million viewers overall, according to estimates from Nielsen Live+7 estimates for a drop of just over a million viewers from last season.
