Julianna Margulies Gets Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame


LOS ANGELES - Julianna Margulies, star of CBS' "The Good Wife," was presented with a star on the Hiollywood Walk of Fame today.

Born in Spring Valley, near New York City. Margulies is the youngest of three daughters of Francesca and and Paul Margulies, an advertising writer. She obtained a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from Sarah Lawrence College, where she appeared in several campus plays. She worked as a waitress until her first role as a prostitute looking to go straight in 1991's "Out for Justice." While a struggling actress, Margulies supported herself from several regional theater productions and national TV ads.

Margulies became a regular in NBC's hit medical drama "ER" in 1994 and went on to guest star in a number of television series and a pilot. She has also starred in several films, including "Ghost Ship" (2002), "Evelyn" (2002), and the thriller "Snakes on a Plane" (2006), among others.

The striking actress landed the role of Alicia Florrick, an attorney who was humiliated by her husband's public scandal in the CBS hit drama "The Good Wife."
