LOS ANGELES - Stana Katic, who co-stars in ABC's hit procedural "Castle," has agreed to terms with the network for returning to the show's eighth season this fall.
Katic’s co-star Nathan Fillion signed his new contract back in April, leaving Katic unsigned until now. The deals for both actors were up at the end of the current season, leaving many to speculate whether they would return and whether the show would continue. Show regulars Seamus Dever and Jon Huertas are also back for the upcoming season with new contracts.
The series showrunner David Amann, however, will not be returning. He will be replaced by series writers Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley.
The Canadian-born actress portrays Kate Beckett, opposite Fillion who plays Richard Castle, her fellow police detective and love interest. Katic has previously appeared on a number of television shows such as "Heroes," "CSI: Miami," "The Unit," "24," "ER" and others.
