Buffy's Nicholas Brendon Checks into Rehab

LOS ANGELES - Nicholas Brendon, known for his role as Xander in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" has entered rehab according a post on his Facebook page today.

The 44-year-old actor began treatment Monday at a facility in California to seek help with depression, alcoholism and substance abuse problems. "Since his arrest last October, Nicky had tried several treatment methods – from therapy, to outpatient services – only to realize recently that he needed to take an extended break and treat the underlying issues of his illnesses," the post said.

Brendon had been arrested three times this year on charges that included public intoxication, grand theft and criminal mischief.

In February, Brendon had split from his wife Moonda Tee after only five months of marriage, telling an interviewer in March that he was suffering through substance abuse problems caused by depression and the memories of his early childhood when he suffered through molestation.
