'DWTS' Alum & Olympic Gold Medalist Nastia Liukin Gets Engaged!

LOS ANGELES - Olympic gold medalist Nastia Liukin, who competed in this season's "Dancing with the Stars" with dancing partner Derek Hough, hit Twitter today to announce her engagement to boyfriend Matt Lombardi.

The 25-year-old former gymnast posted a photo of her hand sporting a huge diamond engagement ring with Lombardi in the background, simply said "So this happened."

Born in Moscow, but moved with her parents to the U.S. as a child, the Russian-American athlete won the 2008 Olympic Gold Medal in the women's all-around gymnastics competition. Liukin was the 2005 and 2007 world champion on the balance beam and the 2005 world champion on the uneven bars during her gymnastics career.

Liukin had dated figure skater Evan Lysacek. Lombardi is co-founder of VentureUp, a sports team-coaching platform.
