LOS ANGELES - The iconic Bradys are coming to Broadway possibly as CBS Consumer Products announced it plans to create a stage adaptation of the venerable ABC 70s sitcom "The Brady Bunch."
CBS has partnered with show creator Sherwood Schwartz’s family on a comedic musical stage version of his sitcom “The Brady Bunch.” The play will have an entirely new story, but will feature the original characters from the sitcom about a widowed architect with three sons who marries a
woman who has three daughters. Lloyd J. Schwartz and Hope Juber, who are Schwartz's children, wrote the book.
The show originally aired from September 26, 1969, to March 8, 1974, on ABC. It starred Robert Reed and Florence Henderson, with Barry Williams, Maureen McCormick, Christopher Knight, Eve Plumb, Mike Lookinland, Susan Olsen and Ann B. Davis.
CBS is also developing “Cheers Live on Stage,” a stage production that will focus on classic moments from the long-running 1982-92 NBC sitcom that starred Ted Danson as problematic Boston bar owner Sam Malone. The show is scheduled to begin touring in 2016 with distribution by Troika Entertainment.
