'The Walking Dead' Adds Corey Hawkins to Cast
LOS ANGELES - AMC's hit zombie drama "The Walking Dead" has confirmed that it has added Corey Hawkins to its cast for next season, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Hawkins will play a pivotal member of the Alexandria community on the show's upcoming sixth season set to start in October. He will play the recurring character Heath, an Alexandria supply runner and friend to Glenn.
Hawkins' character comes straight from the original "The Walking Dead" comic books, on which the show is based. He becomes the newest character from the comic to arrive at the show. He joins recent cast additions Alexandra Breckenridge (Jessie), Ross Marquand (Aaron) and Seth Gilliam (Father Gabriel).
Hawkins is set to play Dr. Dre in the docudrama "Straight Outta Compton," based upon the 80s rap group NWA. The film is set to premiere in theaters on Aug. 14
