Michael Myers Is Back in Dimension's 'Halloween Returns'
LOS ANGELES - Deranged killer Michael Myers is coming back in "Halloween Returns," the 11th film in the storied slasher film franchise.
The movie, produced by Dimension and Trancas International Films, is now filming with Marcus Dustan (Saw) directing from a script he wrote with Patrick Melton (Saw IV, The Collector). The new film follows the most recent films from the franchise, directed by Rob Zombie: “Halloween” (2007) and “Halloween II” (2009).
The series was originated by legendary horror director John Carpenter who directed "Halloween" and co-wrote the script with veteran producer Debra Hill. The film told the story of Myears, an escaped mental patient who goes on a rampage, killing unsuspecting teenagers. The original film starred Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasence.
“Halloween Returns” is produced by Malek Akkad and executive produced by Matthew Stein. The film's storyline is under wraps, producers said.
