AMC Releases Trailer for 'Fear the Walking Dead'

LOS ANGELES - AMC has released the trailer for "The Walking Dead" spinoff, "Fear the Walking Dead" at Comic-Con today. The show received a two-season order by AMC in March.

The trailer shows an apocalyptic vision of Los Angeles as it descends into chaos as the Zombie virus spreads. Cliff Curtis, "Deadwood" actress Kim Dickens and Ruben Blades star in the new series. Like the first season of "The Walking Dead," which went on to become the most successful series in AMC's history, the spinoff will premiere with a six-episode season.

Created by Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson, the series is scheduled to premiere on AMC on August 23. It is executive produced by "The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman, Dave Erickson, Gale Anne Hurd, and David Alpert, with Erickson set to serve as the series' showrunner.

The pilot episode was filmed in Los Angeles with the remaining first season episodes filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, AMC confirmed. The show is set to air in August and on until just prior to the return of "The Walking Dead" in October. Season two is set to return sometime in 2016.
