Maria Menounos Joins E! News, Replacing Giuliana Rancic
LOS ANGELES - Maria Menounos, who left "Extra" earlier this year, is back in the anchor seat. But this time it's at E! News where she'll replace longtime anchor Giuliana Rancic who announced her departure from the network last week.
E! has confirmed that Menounos, who was expected to take over Rancic’s role, will be joining the current E! News team made up of Jason Kennedy, Terrence Jenkins and Catt Sadler.
Menounos has been hosting her own hourlong E! entertainment news series, “Untold With Maria Menounos,” and has appeared on the entertainment news series “Live From E!” and has been a fill-in anchor on “E! News." The TV veteran was co-host of “Extra” along with Mario Lopez, and had previously served as a correspondent on such shows as “Access Hollywood” and “Today.”
Rancic’s final day as “E! News” anchor is Aug. 10. She will continue co-hosting “Fashion Police” and will remain with the network for “Live From the Red Carpet."
