LOS ANGELES - E!'s much publicized Caitlyn Jenner reality show "I Am Cait" lost half its audience from its opening episode according to numbers from Sunday's airing.
Sunday's episode averaged about 1.3 million viewers, or down from the 2.7 million viewers who watched the series' opening episode.
The show, which airs Sundays at 8 p.m. Eastern/Pacific, follows the transformation of Bruce Jenner from a man to Caitlyn Jenner, a woman, by showing the struggles and publicity of changing gender.
The first episode of "I Am Cait" has already reached 7.7 million viewers which is a combination of encore showings and time-shifting. The original broadcast of "I Am Cait"'s premiere garnered an estimated 3.9 million viewers with its first round of DVR views added.
The series' 1.3 million viewers remains lower than any broadcast of "Keeping With the Kardashians" has ever drawn among live-plus-same day showings.
