Robert Downey Jr. is Highest Paid Actor for Third Straight Year


LOS ANGELES - Robert Downey Jr. is the highest paid actor for the third straight year, according to Forbes magazine.

The annual list put out by Forbes of the world’s highest-paid actors profiles actors that work only in international movie industries. The 34 actors on the list are represent seven countries and earned a combined $941 million in the past fiscal year.

Downey was tops on the list by earning $80 million becoming the highest paid actor in the world for the third straight year and has the highest recorded annual payday of all time, thanks to the success of "Avengers: Age of Ultron." Second on the list was Jackie Chan with $50 million.

Vin Diesel was third on the list with $47 million thanks to “Furious 7.” The film, which was the last installment of the blockbuster franchise grossed a record-breaking $1.5 billion worldwide. Bradley Cooper was fourth with $41.5 million. Cooper starred in and co-produced Clint Eastwood’s much talked-about Iraq War drama “American Sniper.".

“Pixels” star Adam Sandler, whose recent films have been flops, came in at No. 5 with $41 million. The SNL alum has four proposed movies set to hit Netflix as a result of an exclusive deal with the online distributor. Tom Cruise ranked sixth with a $40 million payday for his upfront fees for “Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation” and for 2014's

“Edge of Tomorrow.”
