NBC Orders New Comedies From Tina Fey & Producer Michael Schur

LOS ANGELES - NBC has ordered new comedies from "30 Rock" producing team of Tina Fey and Robert Carlock as well as from "Parks and Recreation" producer Michael Schur. NBC made the announcement today at the Television Critics Association press tour at the Beverly Hilton.

Fey and Carlock's project was created by fellow “30 Rock” producer, Tracey Wigfield which tells the story of a millennial woman whose life is complicated when her mother gets an internship at the cable network where she works. Wigfield and Fey received an Emmy for co-writing the “30 Rock” finale.

Fey, Carlock, Wigfield and 3 Arts producer David Miner will executive produce the pilot.

Schur’s proposal, however, is going straight-to-series with a 13-episode order off a pitch that impressed NBC Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt and NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke. Greenblatt said he could give no details other than it deals with a “strong, very complicated female character” who is “wrestling with what it means to be good."

Schur’s project has no writers yet, but Greenblatt said it has the tentative title of The Good Place.
