Jen Faith Brown Helps Pageant Raise Funds for Homeless Animals
LOS ANGELES – Actress Jen Faith Brown of the upcoming film “Johnny Shadow,” is set to compete in the Ms. West Coast Pageant which aims to benefit the non-profit animal care charity, Operation Blankets of Love. The event will take place at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29 at The Morgan-Wixson Theatre, 2627 Pico Blvd. in Santa Monica 90405.
“I’m very excited to take part in this amazing pageant with so many talented women gathering for such a great cause,” said Brown. “It’s truly a great way to bring people together and raise funds to help homeless animals.”
Operation Blankets of Love is a Granada Hills, Calif.-based grassroots, community-driven nonprofit animal welfare and emergency relief organization founded in 2008. Its unique purpose is to improve the well-being and survival of homeless animals and increase chances for survival and adoption. The organization is online at www.OperationBlanketsOfLove.Org.
The pageant is presented each year by Miss West Coast Productions Inc. to bring together scores of accomplished women from throughout Southern California who will vie for the Ms. West Coast Crown.

West Coast Pageants is also hosting pageants for Junior Miss West Coast, Miss Teen West Coast, and the Miss West Coast pageants as well on Aug. 29.

Brown is a native New Yorker who has spent most of her career on stage. In New York she worked at the Daryl Roth Theatre off-Broadway, New York City Opera at Lincoln Center and others. In Los Angeles she performed at the La Canada Shakespeare Festival, The Lee Strasberg Theatre, Sierra Madre Playhouse, and with the Los Angeles Metropolitan Opera. Regionally, Brown has worked with the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Syracuse Stage, the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center, among others.
Most recently, Brown has appeared in the online series “Perk it Up,” the upcoming film “Johnny Shadow,” as well as appeared on “All My Children,” and “Law & Order.” She is also an accomplished singer and recording artist as well as stage actress. Her work has included “The Glass Menagerie,” “Phantom,” “Man of La Mancha,” and many others.
