Sony Names Cast Members of Next 'Resident Evil' Film

LOS ANGELES - Ruby Rose and Iain Glen are among the cast members of the newest edition of the "Resident Evil" franchise,"Resident Evil: The Final Chapter."

Screen Gems, a unit of Sony Pictures, has released the names of the upcoming film's cast. They include Glen, Rose, Shawn Roberts, Eoin Macken and William Levy who will join Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter in the upcoming Sci-Fi saga.

The new film follows the action from "Resident Evil: Retribution," as Project Alice is forced to race against time as the villainous Red Queen attempts to destroy the final remnants of humanity. Producing are Paul W.S. Anderson, Jeremy Bolt and Robert Kulzer from a script by Anderson, who also directs.

The film is now in production in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa.

The new film comes after its predecessor "Resident Evil: Retribution" earned $42 million, well below its $65 million budget and 2010's "Resident Evil: Afterlife" which earned $60 million on a $60 million budget.
