LOS ANGELES - Fox has greenlit a proposed TV reboot of Shane Black's iconic 80s buddy-cop action-adventure "Lethal Weapon."
The film starred Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. Three sequels were released, with the pair returning as the unlikely police partners. Hailing from Warner Bros. and "Forever's"
Matt Miller, the TV version of the film is officially described as: "When Texas cop and former Navy SEAL Martin Riggs suffers the loss of his wife and baby, he moves to Los Angeles to start anew. There, he gets partnered with LAPD detective Roger Murtaugh, who, having recently suffered a "minor" heart attack, must avoid any stress in his life."
If it's picked up for a full season, "Lethal Weapon" (the TV show) will join Fox's "Minority Report" (as a TV show) and CBS' upcoming TV reboot "Rush Hour" on a growing list of movies rebooted for television.
