Comedy Central Renews ‘Inside Amy Schumer’ and ‘Broad City’
Amy Schumer's "Inside Amy Schumer" has been renewed for a fifth season by Comedy Central.
LOS ANGELES - Comedy Central has renewed Amy Schumer‘s “Inside Amy Schumer” for a fifth season and renewed comedy “Broad City” for two more seasons, the cable network announced Wednesday.
The network has also given a greenlight to “Time Traveling,” a three-night limited series from “Broad City” executive producers Ilana Glazer, Lucia Aniello and Paul W. Downs. “Individually and collectively, these shows speak for themselves,” Comedy Central’s President of Original Programming Kent Alterman said in a statement.
“Inside Amy Schumer” explores topics revolving around sex and relationships and is made up of scripted vignettes, stand-up comedy and man-on-the-street interviews. The series was created by Schumer and Daniel Powell, who executive produce along with Head Writer Jessi Klein. Tony Hernandez and Steve Ast also serve as executive producers; Kim Caramele and Kevin Kane are supervising producers. Courtesy of the collective brains of and starring Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, “Broad City” is an odd-couple comedy about two best friends navigating their twenties in New York City, where their adventures always lead down unexpected and outlandish paths.
“Time Traveling” centers on two cousins, played by Glazer and Downs, who discover a time traveling bong and ride high as they blaze through time. Their buzz is killed when the bong breaks and the cousins are forced to bounce around the space-time continuum, learning to appreciate that there’s no time like the present.
The show will premiere immediately following the Season 3 finale of “Broad City.” The third season of “Broad City” premieres Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 10 p.m. ET. Season 4 of “Inside Amy Schumer” premieres in April.
