Zachary Quinto Dedicated Leonard Nimoy Way at Paramount Pictures

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Zachary Quinto, who will play Mr. Spock in the upcoming “Star Trek Beyond,” dedicated Leonard Nimoy Way today at Paramount Pictures. Nimoy played the original Vulcan first officer aboard the Starship Enterprise during the 1966-69 run of the “Star Trek” TV series and in its subsequent feature films.
“Maybe the most humbling moment of my ‘Trek’ experience,” Quinto wrote on Instagram about the event. Fans at the event gave the Vulcan salute made famous by Nimoy on the show. A Periscope video of the event was presented online.
The event, was also meant to promote the July 22 release of “Beyond,” as well as honor Nimoy, who died on Feb. 27, 2015. Nimoy’s family was in attendance.
“We miss him all the time,” Quinto told the crowd. “He’s in the film in a powerful way.”
A trailer for the new film was premiered before fans at the event, held at Paramount’s Stage 32, where the original “Star Trek” was filmed.
