'The Voice' Tops 'Dancing With the Stars' in Finales' Ratings Battle

LOS ANGELES - The competition shows “The Voice” and “Dancing With the Stars” crowned their champions on Tuesday night, but NBC's reality entry that finished on top by night's end. The singing show beat its opposition in total viewers and other key measurements.
“The Voice” received a 2.1 rating/7 share in the 18-49 demographic, while "DWTS" earned a 1.6 rating/5 share The competition was much closer among total viewers, as NBC’s finale beat out ABC’s "DWTS," 10.396 million to 10.295 million. Averaged across all primetime shows, NBC finished the evening in first place altogether.
NBC finished first in ratings with a 1.9 rating/7 share in the key advertising 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 9.4 million, according to preliminary figures. The “Voice” recap show at 8 p.m. ET earned a 1.4/5 and 7.5 million viewers.
The season finale followed from 9 to 11 p.m. ABC was second in ratings with a 1.4/5 and in viewers with 8.4 million. The “Fresh Off the Boat” season finale at 8 p.m. ET had a 1.2/5 and 4.9 million viewers. At 8:30, the “Real O’Neals” finale got a 1.0/4 and 4.2 million viewers. “DWTS” followed for 120 minutes.
CBS and the CW tied for third place in the ratings, with a 0.9/3. CBS finished third in total viewers with 5.5 million, CW was fourth with 2.4 million.
For CBS, “The Price Is Right” primetime special at 8 p.m. ET earned a 1.1/4 and 6.4 million viewers. “Person of Interest” at 9 posted a 0.9/3 for a total of 5.3 million viewers. A second hour at 10 received a 0.9/3 and 4.9 million viewers. For the CW, “The Flash” season finale at 8 p.m. ET received a 1.2/5 and 3.3 million total viewers.
