Keanu Reeves Gets Recurring Role in New Pop TV Comedy
LOS ANGELES – Pop TV announced on Thursday a new slate of new original programs, including “Swedish Dicks, Private Detectives,” a new comedy series features Keanu Reeves in his first major television role.
The Sweden-produced program originally premiered on the streaming service Viaplay, and also features Peter Stormare (The Blacklist) and Johan Glans. The sitcom revolves around a former stuntman and a Swedish DJ who open a private detective firm in Los Angeles with Reeves appearing in a recurring role.
Pop also has ordered “Clique,” a BBC Three drama from producers of the British hit drama “Skins.” The new series “brings childhood soulmates Georgia, played by The Fall‘s Aisling Franciosi, and Holly, played by Synnove Karlsen, who upon arriving at a university, Georgia gets drawn into an elite clique of alpha girls, led by mysterious professor Jude Monroe (Louise Brealey).”
The half-hour comedy “Hot Date,” based on the CollegeHumor web series of the same name, with Will Arnett serving as executive producer, was also ordered with a fall premiere date.
