Hilary Swank Joins Cast of FX’s True-Life Limited Series ‘Trust’

LOS ANGELES - Academy Award-winning actress Hilary Swank is joining the cast of the upcoming FX limited series “Trust,” according to Variety.

Swank will portray Gail Getty, the mother of John Paul Getty III, heir to the Getty oil fortune who was kidnapped in 1973. The film tells the story how she must pay for her son’s multi-million dollar ransom, despite the fact she is broke and with few resources.

The series is the actress’s first television role since she appeared in 1998 in “Beverly Hills 90210,” “Leaving L.A.,” and “Camp Wilder.” Swank is best known her acclaimed film career that includes winning Oscars for “Million Dollar Baby” in 2005 and for “Boys Don’t Cry” in 2000. She also won Golden Globes for the two films, and has also a Golden Globe nomination for her role in the TV movie “Iron Jawed Angels.”

Swank is set to star in the Steven Soderbergh film “Logan Lucky“ with Channing Tatum and Adam Driver.
