LOS ANGELES – Veteran actor Robert Conrad, best known as superspy James West in the iconic 1960s spy series “The Wild Wild West” has signed on to play himself in “Hot Girl Problems” on Funny or Die.
The comedy also stars actresses Alyssa Reeves, formerly of Fox’s reality series “Coupled,” Emily Peachey, who played a lovestruck teen in “The Fault in Our Stars,” and Jennifer Lyons, known for various roles in TV comedies such as “Malcolm in the Middle,” “That 70s Show” and the upcoming sitcom “Hitting the Breaks.”
“We are extremely pleased to work with Robert Conrad and have his amazing talents on ‘Hot Girl Problems’” said Carlos A. Martinez, who wrote and is heading the project. “We always had Robert in mind for this comedy and we were grateful that he was available to join us.”
The role marks Conrad’s return to acting for the first time since the 2002 thriller “Dead Above Ground.”
“Hot Girl Problems” is executive produced by Martinez and produced by Peter Kavadlo for Scribe Films. Cinematography will be by Mark Linthicum.
The comedy features three frustrated coeds who turn to their idol Robert Conrad for relationship advice.
“It’s pure fun featuring the extremely talented Alyssa Reeves, Emily Peachey and Jennifer Lyons who is one of the funniest actresses today,” Martinez said.
“Hot Girl Problems” is in pre-production and set to air sometime this summer.
