Candice Bergen to Discuss ‘Book Club’ and ‘Murphy Brown’ Reboot on ‘The Talk’

LOS ANGELES – Candice Bergen will discuss the return of the iconic situation comedy “Murphy Brown” and her new feature film “Book Club” when she guests on CBS’s “The Talk” at 2 p.m. Eastern/1 PM Pacific on Thursday, May 17.

The actress, who became known as the rabble-rousing TV anchor Murphy Brown in the sitcom of the same name, will join the hosts of “The Talk.” She will discuss her new film “Book Club” which tells the story of four lifelong friends who have their lives forever changed after reading “50 Shades of Grey” in their monthly book club.

The film also stars Diane Keaton, Mary Steenburgen, Jane Fonda and Andy Garcia.

Bergen will also discuss the return of “Murphy Brown” this coming fall featuring the reunited cast of Bergen, Faith Ford, Charles Kimbrough, Joe Regalbuto and Grant Shaud. The series originally ran from 1988 to 1998 on CBS.

“Murphy Brown” follows the life of Murphy Brown, a very selfish, stubborn, extremely hot-tempered but also talented, resourceful, clever and caring middle-aged reporter who works for FYI News Network and at the same time tries to raise her child as an unmarried, working woman.

The episode of “The Talk” will also feature a cooking segment with chef Curtis Stone and a segment with TV personality Carrie Ann Inaba.
