Malcolm McDowell to Portray Rupert Murdoch in Upcoming Film
LOS ANGELES – Veteran British actor Malcolm McDowell (2007's "Halloween") will portray Rupert Murdoch, chairman of News Corp, in the upcoming film about Fox News' disgraced former boss Roger Ailes, according to sources. The fill aims to tell the story of Ailes and how women brought about his fall from grace.
The cast of "Fair and Balanced" features Nicole Kidman, John Lithgow, Kate McKinnon, Margot Robbie and Charlize Theron. Charles Randolph wrote the script and it will be directed by Jay Roach.
The film tells the story of Ailes' downfall and the group of female employees who overcame a culture of sexism at the network and ultimately helped oust the veteran news man. Kidman will play Gretchen Carlson, the Fox News anchor who had sued Ailes for harassment, while Theron will take on the role of Megyn Kelly. Robbie's character will reportedly be a fictional Fox News associate producer.
