CBS All Access' New 'Star Trek' Series Adds More Cast Members


LOS ANGELES – The cast of the new “Star Trek” offshoot Captain Jean-Luc Picard series is starting to take shape at CBS All Access, according to Variety.

Actors Santiago Cabrera and Michelle Hurd have are reportedly joining the upcoming “Star Trek” show in series regular roles. Their exact roles were not revealed. But as reported previously, Patrick Stewart will reprise the role he played from 1987 to 1994 on “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”

Cabrera had most recently starred in the CBS series “Salvation” and in HBO’s “Big Little Lies.” He is also known for his role in the BBC period series “The Musketeers.” His past TV work includes “The Mindy Project,” “Merlin,” “Heroes,” and “Hemingway and Gellhorn.”

He is represented by Principal Entertainment LA.

Hurd has appeared on the NBC drama “Blindspot” and Fox’s “Lethal Weapon.” Her other recent television credits include “Ash vs. Evil Dead,” “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” and “Hawaii Five-O.”

Stewart will also serve as executive producer of the series in addition to starring. He joins Alex Kurtzman, James Duff, Akiva Goldsman, Michael Chabon, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth who will also be executive producers.
