Them: Covenant's Tanya Karn Joins Freelusion Dance Company
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Veteran Dancer/choreographer Tanya Karn of the new series "Them: Covenant," has joined the cast of the dance company Freelusion as one of its lead dancers.
Known for their title as Best Dance Act and Semi-Finalists in the 10th season of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” Freelusion has been a pioneer in combining modern dance performances with immersive 3D video mapping. The award-winning company is recognized worldwide for its excellence and ability to deliver quality performances across a variety of commercial and private events. Since 2009, Freelusion has performed in more than 50 countries worldwide worked with Criss Angel, the SoulAir Choir, the Hungarian National Ballet and many others.
“Dancing with Freelusion has been a truly unique experience for me,” Karn said. “I have been performing on stage since I was 2 years old, but the video mapping adds a completely different element. Learning to work cohesively and precisely with the lighting designers takes a lot of concentration, but the new challenge has been exciting!”
Karn comes to the company after working on a number of television shows such as the upcoming Amazon Prime series “Them: Covenant,” Nickelodeon’s “Make It Pop”, the CW’s “Hellcats,” and “The L.A. Complex,” as well as The Family Channel’s “The Next Step,” SyFy’s “Warehouse 13” and many other films and television shows. Karn has also danced for many artists over her career such as Demi Lovato, the Jonas Brothers, Jason Derulo and more, and is gearing up to simultaneously tour with the dance competition “Headliners.”
“To be an integral element of these performances is sensational,” she said. “On stage, I’m dancing amidst a spectacle of lights. But to the audience, we are bringing to life some of the most brilliant imagery. Witnessing the impact of our performances invigorates my passion for performing.”
Freelusion will release its tour dates later this year.
