Amanda Bynes Turned Down Interview for 'Quiet on Set' Docu on Purported Abuse of Teens on TV Shows
LOS ANGELES — Amanda Bynes reportedly turned down an interview for the ID Network's "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV," TMZ has reported.
According to the celebrity website, both Amanda and her parents — Rick and Lynn — were asked about telling their stories on the documentary, but they reportedly said they would not to participate.
TMZ sources said Bynes did not watch the documentary and declined to sit for an because she felt she didn't have anything to share that would add to the documentary. She was apparently grateful for what she was able to achieve at Nickelodeon which sparked her start in the industry.
The series focuses on former Nickelodeon actor, producer and creator Dan Schneider who is known for popular TV shows such as "The Amanda Show," "iCarly," "All That," "Zoey 101," "Victorious," and "Drake and Josh."
The documentary series outlined a number of apparent abuse against many of the shows' stars by members of the production team, including Schneider.
Former cast member Josh Peck, co-star to Drake Bell on "The Amanda Show" and "Drake and Josh." Peck released a statement to his Instagram on Thursday that said, "I finished the Quiet on Set documentary and took a few days to process it. I reached out to Drake privately but want to give my support to the survivors who were brave enough to share their stories of emotional and physical abuse on Nickelodeon sets with the world."
Former child-star Drake Bell of "The Amanda Show" and "Drake and Josh" speaks out about how he survived alleged abuse at the hands of his acting coach, who he met on a the set of a Nickelodeon show.
Along with Bell, former child stars who shared their stories were Alexa Nikolas who played Nicole Bristow on "Zoey 101" as well as multiple cast members from "All That" including Giovonnie Samuels, Leon Frierson, Bryan Hearne, Kyle Sullivan and Katrina Johnson.
