Jennette McCurdy Reveals She is 'Ashamed' of her Past Work

LOS ANGELES – Jennette McCurdy revealed in that she has quit acting and that she is ashamed of her past work.

The actress, known for Nickelodeon's hit sitcom "iCarly," told Anna Faris during her "Empty Inside" podcast that for many years she has felt ashamed of her work on the sitcom.

"“I’m so ashamed of the parts I’ve done in the past. … I resent my career in a lot of ways. I feel so unfulfilled by the roles that I played and felt like it was the most cheesy, embarrassing [thing]."

She added: "My friends at 15 weren’t like ‘Oh, cool, you’re on this Nickelodeon show.’ It was embarrassing."

McCurdy starred as Sam Puckett, alongside Miranda Cosgrove and Nathan Kress on "iCarly" which ran from 2007 to 2012, before getting her own short-lived spinoff, "Sam & Cat," with Ariana Grande.
