Paul Reubens' Final Role will be in the Upcoming Hulu Comedy 'Quiz Lady'

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The final film role of the late Paul Reubens will be in the upcoming Hulu comedy “Quiz Lady,” the studio has revealed.

In the film, Reubens, who is known for his work as Pee-wee Herman where he will make a cameo appearance as himself. Reubens shared the screen with lead actors Awkwafina and Sandra Oh. “Quiz Lady” is a comedy about a dysfunctional family and their quest to cover their mother's gambling debts by winning a game show championship.

It was originally said that Reubens would be appearing as Pee-wee Herman, but in actuality, he would simply play himself.

Reubens sadly passed away from acute hypoxic respiratory failure at age 70 on July 30, with the actor having been diagnosed with myelogenous leukemia and metastatic lung cancer. A diagnosis he had kept secret from the public.

“Quiz Lady” was directed by Jessica Yu, written by Jen D'Angelo, and starring Sandra Oh and Awkwafina. The film is set to air on Hulu in November.
