YouTube Personality Arif Zahir will be the New Voice of Cleveland Brown in 'Family Guy'

LOS ANGELES – YouTube personality Arif Zahir will be the new voice for “Family Guy’s” Cleveland Brown, the show has announced.

The television newcomer will take over as Cleveland in Season 19, after the show was picked up for two more seasons – its 19th and 20th seasons with new episodes set to go into production. He succeeds Mike Henry, who created the character and voiced it since “Family Guy” made its debut in 1999 before going on to the show's spin-off “The Cleveland Show."

Henry announced in June that he would no longer voice Cleveland, saying “I love this character, but persons of color should play characters of color."

Zahir is known for his video impressions of President Obama, Cleveland Brown, Donald Trump, Kendrick Lamar and others for his 6.25 million YouTube subscribers. His music video “Hit Rap Songs in Voice Impressions,” which features him reimagining “Sicko Mode” as sung by Cleveland, has about 14.2 million views; while another 2017 video featuring Cleveland performing hit rap songs earned about 6.5 million views.
